The Santa Monica Pier; 3rd Street Promenade; O'Brien's Bar, Santa Monica

Day #11 of my busking adventures.  My first day ever at the pier.  I had walked around a few days before, talked to guys like Larry and Flash (sitar player?), got the lay of the land.  I was finally here to do it.  The Santa Monica Pier, aka "The End of The Trail" from ol' Route 66.

I got spot #3, 4 to 7pm. It was rough, but about the same as the Promenade.  I was learning that the second you look at your tip jar, that's when you stop having fun.  When you stop having fun, the audience does to.  So just have fun and play not to, but WITH the audience.  And that has made all the difference.  Frosty quote for the day.

I was still pumped though, it was Saturday night in Santa Monica.  I went back out to 3rd Street, to play in front of Barney's from 10 to 12.  It was harder than last week.  Then went to O'Brien's Bar from 1:30 to 2:30 - with my harmonica in hand.  This time, a couple stopped and swayed in front of me, holding each other - while I played let's get it on. I remember the girl started singing along when I played "Im Yours".  Haha.  Moments.
